Imagine and Create
The word of God says, “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God, He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.”
One of the literal meanings of this scripture is that God created us in His image by first forming us in His imagination. Imagination is the creative ability that our Creator puts inside every human, along with the physical or mental ability to reproduce. To create something beautiful, we must first imagine what it is we want to create.
The Word of God says that the LORD spoke this to Moses regarding the design of the tabernacle saying, “And see to it that you make them according to the pattern which was shown to you on the mountain”.
It is scripturally evident that we must encourage youth to use their God-given imagination. Our young people can dream of a better future and create the plan needed to help achieve it. As the LORD created the world out of chaos, humans can either create chaos in their lives and in the world around them or create beauty.
In the Culture Shift Program, we use a hand selected curriculum to emphasize to our young people that their dreams matter and that they have divine permission to dream big. Throughout the course, participants are taught to use their imagination as a starting point for making their dreams become a reality by utilizing the goal-setting model to make short and long-term goals and help them overcome obstacles and challenges through solving problems and building resilience.
A Better Life
Throughout our course, student also learn how to use this model to create a better life for the whole person by creating goals for the physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, and future career aspects of their lives. With Culture Shift it is our goal:
- To foster whole individuals in pursuit of their dreams. We walk alongside our students as they shift their mindset from focusing on their current realities to what their future could become if they dare to dream!
- That our students would be equipped to create better opportunities for themselves.
- To give our students the space and freedom to dream big while supporting them both spiritually and mentally with the tools they will need to really accomplish all that they dream.
On Purpose
Culture Shift teaches that all humans are created on purpose by God and for a purpose by God. We want every young person to believe that they are active participants in God’s plan for their lives and that the choices they make every day impact the course of their life.
We know that it is vital that their parents, churches, and leaders in the community come alongside young people in their childhood and young adulthood to teach them the life skills needed to become healthy and whole individuals who are able to create a better life for themselves and the generations to come.
